Crane Technician 06N25

As a Crane Technician, you will be at the heart of maintaining and repairing crane machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your role will involve hands-on interaction with complex mechanical and electrical systems. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance checks on various types of cranes. Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and maintenance to ensure cranes remain in fully operational condition.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures and perform necessary repairs efficiently.
• Consult manufacturer manuals to ascertain how to fix anomalies and issues.
• Work closely with the operations team to schedule routine maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repair work carried out on cranes.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
• Test crane components for functionality and ensure they meet safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and other staff as needed.
• Monitor inventory and order components and parts needed for maintenance and repairs.
• Collaborate with external vendors for specialized repair tasks and services.
• Keep abreast of technological advances and integrate new techniques and equipment into practices.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of pro-active maintenance protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in crane maintenance and repair work.
• Proficient understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for logging activities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to different job sites if needed.
