Civil Engineer (225-717)

A Civil Engineer plays an integral role in the planning, design, and development of infrastructure projects, ranging from large-scale public works such as highways, bridges, and dams to residential, commercial, and industrial developments. This position involves overseeing construction projects to ensure compliance with safety regulations and structural integrity standards. Civil Engineers must possess a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, materials science, and environmental knowledge to adapt designs for sustainability and cost-efficiency. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential as Civil Engineers often work with architects, contractors, inspectors, and other engineers to ensure projects are executed within scope, budget, and time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and water supply systems.
• Lead feasibility studies and prepare detailed project reports and engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges effectively.
• Ensure that all projects adhere to legal safety regulations and environmental policies.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure conformity to designs and project specifications.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and other topographical data for project planning.
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, and labor to determine project feasibility.
• Develop and implement project management plans, schedules, and budgets efficiently.
• Monitor progress on-site and offer recommendations to maintain project timelines and costs.
• Liaise with clients and contractors for project updates and stakeholder engagement.
• Use software to simulate and model construction scenarios to optimize designs.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements for existing project structures and facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within one year.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in civil project design and management.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for engineering and drafting work.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and designs.
• Proven project management skills with expertise in cost and time management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety regulations in civil engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with effective problem-solving skills.
