Technical – Provision of Chemical Treatment & Flow Assurance Engineering, Consultancy and Auditing Services (Client Based)
Responsibilities
Assessment of risk of oilfield scale and corrosion problems, separation and produced water handling and mitigation through chemical treatment.
Management of existing production chemicals applications by providing cost effective solutions to control corrosion, reduce deposition, save energy, treat produced water for reuse or disposal specifications, maintain Water Injection Quality, curtail downtime, increase productivity and optimize system performance.
The scope includes provision of consultancy services for review of reservoir modelling studies to develop new well treatment technologies associated with corrosion management and flow assurance.
Process chemical solutions for scale, Asphaltene, hydrates and water injection system quality control including biological control.
Root cause analysis (RCA) studies and detailed investigation of failures of equipment and systems associated with corrosion and/or chemical management.
Flow assurance modelling and corrosion risk assessment of multi-phase well fluid, crude oil, wet gas and condensate pipelines.
Review and analysis of flow assurance modelling data pertaining to wells, pipelines, piping, etc. to improve field and system productivity.
Study the performance of regular intervention activities to improve flow assurance, such as frequent pigging and injection of chemical inhibitors or drag-reducing agents.
Establish Chemical Selection requirement and acquire proper treatment criteria and relevant analysis required for downhole and surface facilities.
Provide advice on corrective actions for any problem related to chemical treatment programs and assist where necessary in internal/external quality audit.
Establish objectives, parameters and methods for chemical treatment programs and chemical performance follow-up requirements.
Provides expert advice on proper handling and usage of flow assurance chemicals for surface facilities.
Provides expertise in the identification of corrosion, DRA, scale & Asphaltene problems and subsequently in the designing & preparation of chemical treatment programs.
Provides expert advice on ‘Scope of Work’ for chemical selection process and testing criteria, includes efficiency, compatibility and core-flood experiments.
Participate in special studies per management directives on any specific or multidimensional issues related to production chemistry to diagnose the problem and recommend appropriate & effective solution.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills)
Knowledgeable and have experience with reputed oil & gas operators worldwide in all aspects of corrosion engineering and management, particularly chemicals selection, chemicals management and flow assurance related services.
Demonstrate a sound background and hands on experience in topside and downhole oil field corrosion, chemicals selection, chemicals management and flow assurance.
Good communication skills in English, verbal and written.
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of industry experience, out of which 5 years as a consultant or specialist engineer in the relevant discipline and service category.
Bachelor’s degree qualification in Engineering in the relevant discipline
NACE Corrosion Specialist Certification OR NACE Specialist Certification in Specific Specialization Area* OR other equivalent internationally recognized certification from a professional institution or society for corrosion engineers, in the specific discipline and service category. Professional membership with an engineering institute (NACE or MICorr)
Specialist Engineer should have contributed to oil and gas industry consultancy projects as a discipline specialist or consultant, authored or made significant contributions to reports of similar services and/or published research or industry related studies in the relevant discipline and service category in reputed international journals.
