Job Description

The Buyer, under the job code 02J26, plays a crucial role in the procurement and supply chain process of an organization. As a buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, materials, and services necessary for the organization while ensuring quality and cost-efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Identify suppliers and evaluate their products and services for quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with potential suppliers.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet project deadlines.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, and ensure proper approvals are obtained.
  • Conduct market research to locate best quality products and competitive pricing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for future collaborations.
  • Manage supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery or quality.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment on procurement goals.
  • Prepare purchase orders accurately and authorize payments for received goods.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing data and supplier contracts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate buying measures to prevent stockouts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations in procurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a buyer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with vendors.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain concepts and market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
