Job Description

The Botany Faculty position offers an exciting opportunity for seasoned educators and botanists to impart knowledge and inspire students at an advanced level. Responsibilities

  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development initiatives.
  • Engage students through interactive sessions, workshops, and field-based learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with faculty members on interdisciplinary projects and research initiatives.
  • Organize and participate in seminars, conferences, and symposia related to botany.
  • Supervise student research projects and facilitate lab work to ensure educational objectives are met.
  • Contribute to the university's outreach efforts by engaging with the community and schools.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in botany and integrate them into teaching materials.
  • Actively seek grants and funding opportunities to support research and educational activities.
  • Support the department in administrative duties and student enrollment processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Botany or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven track record of research published in peer-reviewed botanical science journals.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring students in higher education settings.
  • Strong communication skills suitable for engaging students and colleagues in academic discussions.
  • Ability to design and develop curriculum materials that reflect current trends in botany education.
  • Experience in securing research grants and funding from various academic or scientific bodies.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the academic environment.
