Job Description

The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordinator is a pivotal role within any construction or architectural project team, responsible for ensuring the effective deployment and management of digital models that are used throughout the project lifecycle. In this position, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to oversee the implementation of BIM processes and manage the integrity of the information models that drive design and construction decisions. Your expertise will support the project team to optimize the digital construction environment, improve collaboration across disciplines, and enhance the overall efficiency and delivery of construction outputs. The role requires a deep understanding of BIM software, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work within a highly technological and dynamic space.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain BIM project execution plans for individual projects.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors for BIM standards compliance.
  • Ensure the accuracy and functionality of the digital models across all project phases.
  • Conduct regular model checking, clash detection, and auditing for quality assurance.
  • Oversee the integration of all project models into a cohesive master model.
  • Maintain the BIM model updates and version controls to align with project changes.
  • Facilitate BIM meetings to discuss coordination issues and model progress.
  • Train and support project team members in the use of BIM tools and workflows.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to make sure that BIM software is up to date and operational.
  • Contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of BIM protocols and standards.
  • Provide technical advice and support to resolve BIM-related issues on projects.
  • Generate detailed construction documentation directly from the digital models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in BIM coordination in engineering or construction.
  • Proficiency in using BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of BIM processes, standards, and protocols in the industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interact effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a strong problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
