This Position reports to:

Automation Engineering Manager

In this role, you will act as the design authority for an engineering discipline, focusing on medium complexity projects with expertise in Networking & Cyber Security. You will manage assignments across several projects of moderate size or portions of larger projects, ensuring they are completed cost-effectively and in compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and cybersecurity policies.

This role is reporting to the Automation Engineering Manager in Dubai. The role interacts with several key stakeholder groups, including Project Managers, with whom the role collaborates on work plans, cost estimates, and project timelines; Engineering Teams to coordinate the implementation, manufacturing, and testing of technical solutions; and customers who are central to shaping and delivering solutions, gathering feedback, and addressing technical issues to meet contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the customer to shape and deliver solutions, while seeking feedback to drive improvements
  • Developing work plans and cost estimates for projects, ensuring timely, quality delivery within targeted costs
  • Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure designs are properly manufactured, staged, tested, installed, and commissioned
  • Coaching engineering colleagues on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned
  • Acting as a technical lead and approving design deliverables, ensuring conformity, safety, and quality
  • Anticipating and resolving critical issues, applying advanced concepts and methods
  • Participating in project meetings, addressing technical issues, and meeting contractual obligations
  • Assessing technical risks and opportunities, and reporting issues with recommendations for resolution
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, contractual requirements, and engineering guidelines
  • Providing technical support during commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • You are highly skilled in designing and implementing Operational Technology (OT) network solutions for control systems and enjoy working with industrial cybersecurity frameworks in the Oil & Gas and Power & Water sectors
  • You have over 5 years of experience in industrial networking and cybersecurity, including hands-on work with control systems and OT environments
  • You are highly adept in Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, VLAN/VTP/STP/RSTP/MSTP/VRRP/MRP/PRP, MLPS, L2/L3 VPNs, and various network monitoring tools
  • You are passionate about problem-solving and effective communication, bringing strong interpersonal skills to customer interactions
  • You have a degree in engineering or an equivalent field, with extensive knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial automation systems
  • You are at ease communicating in English (in technical and customer-facing environments)
  • You hold current CCNA and CCNP certifications (R&S/Security), with a solid understanding of OT-specific standards like ISA/IEC 62443
  • You are experienced with cybersecurity solutions including McAfee ePO, ENS Threat Prevention, Application Whitelisting, industrial firewalls (Tofino, Eagle), Cisco FTD, FortiGate, and Sophos
  • You are innovative around Active Directory Group Policy configuration and system hardening, along with backup systems like Acronis
