Role Purpose

The Manager, Operations Planning is responsible for establishing and leading the Operations Planning function within Al Tariq. The role ensures the delivery of robust planning services to Procurement and Production by developing and maintaining integrated master schedules aligned with program commitments. This role is critical to enabling efficient execution across multiple projects through effective planning, coordination, and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Operations Planning department, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Recruit, train, and oversee Master Schedulers, Material Planners, and Production Planners in collaboration with the HC function
  • Drive performance management, including goal setting, reviews, and development of planning team members
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of Master Schedules across all client and internal programs
  • Provide regular reporting on planning activities to Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality leadership
  • Support and oversee SAP master data integrity (Material Masters, Routings) to enable effective MRP execution
  • Execute and oversee master scheduling activities across all projects
  • Lead project costing and budgeting processes, including Bill of Materials (BOM) development
  • Ensure alignment between planning, procurement, and production to meet delivery timelines and cost objectives

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Certification in Production, Supply Chain, or Logistics is advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Material and/or Production Planning within a defense or weapons environment
  • At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on SAP experience
  • PMP certification and Power BI certification are advantageous
  • Experience supporting or leading audits in a corporate environment
