Job Description

A Stock Keeper plays a crucial role in an organization's inventory management and logistics framework. In this position, you will be responsible for efficiently managing and maintaining the stock levels within a warehouse or storage facility. A well-optimized stock system ensures that a company operates smoothly by keeping accurate inventory records, ensuring the availability of stock items when needed, and working closely with the procurement and delivery teams to meet organizational goals. If you are detail-oriented, organized, and have a knack for logistics and stock management, this role provides an exciting opportunity to engage in the operational aspects of a company's supply chain management.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records within the storage facility.
  • Execute regular stocktaking activities to reconcile physical stock with records.
  • Monitor stock levels and provide reports to management on inventory status.
  • Assist in determining re-order levels to ensure continuous stock availability.
  • Ensure proper labeling and categorization of stock items for easy identification.
  • Coordinate with procurement to manage incoming freight and stock deliveries efficiently.
  • Organize warehouse space to optimize storage capacity and inventory flow.
  • Develop and implement inventory control protocols and procedures.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or damages in stock items promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements within the warehouse.
  • Liaise with delivery and dispatch teams for timely retrieval of stock items.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in stock management practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required for this role.
  • Proven experience in inventory or stock management in a similar setting.
  • Ability to operate inventory management software and basic computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with various department teams.
  • Physical stamina to perform duties such as lifting and moving stock items.
  • Basic math skills are necessary for inventory calculations and reporting.
