Job Description

A Housekeeping Attendant is essential to maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment in hotels, resorts, and other hospitality venues. The role requires attention to detail, diligence, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Housekeeping Attendants are responsible for keeping guest rooms and public areas clean, tidy, and stocked with necessary amenities. They ensure that all guests have a positive and enjoyable experience during their stay. Effective Housekeeping Attendants are proactive, efficient, and work well independently as well as part of a team. A successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor, as they may interact with guests and address any concerns or requests they may have regarding their accommodations.


Responsibilities

  • Clean and organize hotel rooms, bathrooms, and public areas efficiently.
  • Replace used towels and linen with freshly laundered items daily.
  • Restock guest room amenities such as toiletries, coffee, and cups.
  • Inspect and report any maintenance issues or damages in rooms.
  • Vacuum carpets and mop floors in guest rooms and public corridors.
  • Ensure proper disposal of trash and recyclable materials daily.
  • Respond to guest queries and requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, supplies, and storerooms effectively.
  • Follow all company safety and security procedures consistently.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times in the work area.
  • Assist in laundry and linen operations when necessary and required.
  • Ensure lost property is reported and logged according to policy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or similar janitorial roles preferred.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy items and remain on feet for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and sanitation practices needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests courteously and effectively.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
