We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Development Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible to acquire new HSBC Premier customers for HSBC Philippines and creating referrals for multi-country account opening for these clients for International Banking. You will be responsible for the achievement of the sales objectives of the Distribution team through a consistent achievement of individual sales goals and contributing to the overall business growth. You will be the primary customer-facing touchpoint at client calls and responsible for quality interaction and quality sales. You will also drive collaboration between HSBC Philippines and HSBC India Premier teams, closely engaging with Premier Relationship Managers and Product Teams in both countries to enable cross-border referrals. You will also initiate and develop community engagement among the Indian diaspora in the Philippines to strengthen HSBC’s visibility and positioning.

The following are key roles and responsibilities but not necessarily limited to :

  • Acquiring new HSBC Premier customers for HSBC Philippines in line with the objectives of the Distribution Team, ensuring quality interaction with customers and delivering quality sales.
  • Creating referrals for multi-country account opening for HSBC Premier customers with international banking needs.
  • Initiating and developing community engagement among the affluent Indian diaspora in the Philippines.
  • Handling top tier and highly sensitive Companies / Corporates.

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Proactively planning, prioritizing, and implementing sales activities.
  • Being highly committed to the delivery of outstanding customer service and enhancing customer loyalty and satisfaction anchored on sales activities, robust sales quality, and superior customer service.
  • Ensuring leads are quickly acted upon within the agreed service turnaround time and that each customer interaction is a quality one.
  • Setting up discussions with the corporates to understand the needs of their employees.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Maintaining harmonious working relations with peers, line manager and internal/external customers.
  • Establishing remarkable relationships with all internal customers and other departments to retain a healthy working environment.
  • Being dependable by doing the right thing and adjusting to change, new ideas and culture.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Ensuring the business meets all compliance/audit and quality standards.
  • Adhering to all Legal and Compliance guidelines in line with customer handling.
  • Managing operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.
  • Maintaining HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance, business , economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 1 year in banking sales or related field, with focus on customer acquisition.
  • Must have native-level proficiency in Hindi and English.
  • High motivation and strong sales drive, with the passion to build a career in sales.
  • Able to work in a team and collaborate with local and international stakeholders.
  • This position will be a placement in HSBC Philippines – Bonifacio Global City Taguig or Makati City.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band level than stated above.

Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.
