Job Description

The role of an IT Assistant is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of an organization's technology infrastructure. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to support various IT-related functions. As an IT Assistant, you will collaborate with IT professionals to provide support for hardware, software, and network systems. You will troubleshoot technical issues, set up and maintain equipment, and assist in the management of IT resources. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining an efficient, secure, and up-to-date technology environment that supports the organization’s goals and enhances user productivity. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation and configuration of computer hardware and software systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues related to software, hardware, and network failures.
  • Support IT staff with daily operational tasks to ensure the seamless execution of projects.
  • Maintain and update IT inventory records for all equipment and software licenses.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, enhancing their IT proficiency.
  • Ensure all IT equipment is maintained in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Assist in maintaining security protocols to protect company data and systems from breaches.
  • Coordinate with vendors for purchasing and repairing IT equipment and services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular system updates and backup processes to secure data integrity.
  • Monitor network activity and performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Document technical issues and solutions, creating an accessible knowledge base.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in an IT support or help desk role.
  • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems and applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with non-technical users.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure, and security principles is beneficial.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
