Pre-Funding Support

Program: Financial Services Site: Onsite (Acquire)

Reporting to: Team Lead / Operations Manager

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR ROLE

As a Pre-Funding Support, you are responsible for validating identity, banking, entity records, balances, and risk indicators prior to contract release. You ensure contracts are built accurately in PandaDoc and released within a strict 30-minute SLA. Your role serves as a critical compliance and accuracy checkpoint before funding execution. You verify documentation integrity, confirm entity legitimacy, reconcile balances when required, and ensure contracts reflect accurate legal and banking information. Precision, speed, and risk awareness are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Contract SLA Management

  • Release contracts within 30 minutes of request
  • Confirm whether balances must be calculated prior to contract release
  • Escalate to underwriter or leadership when clarification is required before sending

Identity & Banking Verification

  • Verify EIN matches internal records
  • Confirm Driver’s License is valid and up to date o Request updated ID if expired
  • Ensure merchant name in Salesforce matches government ID exactly
  • Validate voided check (VC) against submitted bank statements
  • Confirm VC is acceptable for funding o Request new VC, bank letter, or alternate proof if insufficient
  • Enter and double-check banking information (account and routing number)
  • Confirm bank statement name and VC match the funding entity o If mismatch with SOS, list as DBA (without “LLC” or “Inc.” in DBA formatting)
  • Correct DBA formatting in Salesforce and contract as needed

OpenCorporates & Secretary of State (SOS) Validation

  • Search entity name and variations in OpenCorporates
  • Verify entity status is Active o If inactive, notify broker and tag required stakeholders
  • Ensure spelling matches SOS exactly in Salesforce
  • Confirm state of incorporation matches Salesforce records
  • Identify and document branches or associated entities in other states
  • Investigate out-of-state entities via CLEAR/credit reports if applicable
  • Download and upload SOS/OpenCorporates filings to Salesforce if missing Entity & Portfolio Cross-Reference Checks
  • Review “Other Owner Accounts” in Salesforce and add to entity list
  • Cross-reference prior contracts and UCC data
  • Check for other MCA contracts on file o Review for additional DBAs, entities, or owners

Balance Review Prior to Contract Send-Out

  • If balances were submitted: o Calculate balances prior to contract release to determine if offer adjustments are required
  • If balances were not provided: o Send contract unless broker selected “Wait to confirm balances”
  • Confirm with leadership if unclear before proceeding

Pre-Send Research & Risk Review

  • Locate and add entity website to Salesforce
  • Search entity for additional DBAs, locations, or related businesses
  • Research merchant and owner for other owned businesses (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Search for lawsuits using entity and merchant name variations
  • Review news articles or publications for relevant findings

Contract Building in PandaDoc

  • Verify physical address via website, Yelp, Google, or prior MCA contracts o Use Google Earth if necessary o Request broker clarification if unclear
  • Add all discovered DBAs to the contract
  • Confirm mailing address matches bank statement tied to funded account o Request correction if inconsistent
  • Calculate Estimated Monthly Average (EMA): o (Sum of 3 months’ deposits – MCA deposits) ÷ 3
  • Ensure owner name matches government ID exactly (including middle initials and suffixes)
  • Confirm correct counter-signer assignment prior to release

  • Experience reviewing bank statements and legal entity documentation
  • Strong research and investigative skills
  • Comfortable escalating issues when documentation discrepancies arise
