Position Overview

The Benefits Administration Eligibility Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of benefit administration services for employer groups ranging from 2 to 10,000 employees. This position is responsible for maintaining and updating account, benefit, and employee enrollment data across multiple systems. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to respond to employee and employer inquiries through the Zoom contact center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management
    • Enter, update, and maintain employer, plan, rate, and employee information in Employee Navigator and internal Data Source benefit administration systems.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of account and enrollment records across all systems.
  • Enrollment Processing
    • Receive and process employee enrollment forms, qualifying life events (QLEs), and employment/plan terminations.
    • Submit enrollment changes directly to carriers via carrier portals or forms, and confirm updates across all benefit administration systems.
    • Track submissions to ensure timely carrier processing and resolve discrepancies when needed.
  • Carrier & Employer Coordination
    • Communicate directly with carriers when submitting or updating employee and employer data.
    • Collaborate with employer HR contacts to validate enrollment and eligibility information.
  • Customer Support
    • Manage and respond to enrollment and eligibility questions received through the Zoom contact center.
    • Provide clear, accurate, and timely support to employees and employer representatives.
  • Compliance & Quality
    • Maintain confidentiality of employee and employer records in compliance with HIPAA and internal policies.
    • Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy of all data entered and processed.
Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in data entry, benefits administration, or insurance operations strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience with Employee Navigator or other benefits administration platforms strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance terminology a plus.

  • Practical Judgment: Demonstrates a practical judgement and sound decision-making when handling sensitive information and complex situations.
