Job Description

The Accounting and Finance staff/officer is responsible for managing the companys financial records, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance with government regulations, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. This role involves handling day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and assisting in overall financial planning.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records of the company.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Process payroll and ensure proper deductions for government-mandated contributions.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation laws and prepare necessary BIR filings and reports.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements and review general ledger transactions.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, government agencies, and other financial institutions.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Support management with financial analysis for business planning and decision-making.

Reporting Line

  • Reports directly to the Finance Manager / Accounting Supervisor / Company Accountant (depending on company structure).

Work Environment

  • Office-based / Hybrid (depending on company policy).
  • May require occasional overtime during reporting and audit periods.

Educational Background

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional license (CPA) is an advantage but not always required

Work Experience

  • At least 13 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance (for staff/associate level)
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and taxation is an advantage
  • Background in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or similar systems)

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts
  • Familiarity with government compliance requirements (BIR, SEC, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc.)
