Position Overview

The Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing guidance on organizational design, talent management, leadership coaching, and other HR initiatives that support business objectives. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and people-focused leadership to drive organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Org Effectiveness

  • Leverage knowledge of the business and global landscape and trends, that directly affect the business to tailor people-focused solutions and drive business outcomes.
  • Interpret key people metrics and trends, and leverage mechanisms to inspect and monitor and recommend solutions to business and people risks.
  • Utilize Amazon Org Design mechanisms and guidance to accelerate business delivery through organizational designs.

Talent Management

  • Build long-term inclusive workforce plans aligned with business objectives, considering cost, skills, and locations strategy.
  • Proactively create talent goals and cadence with the Senior Leadership team, building inclusive talent mechanisms into the organization’s rhythm of business
  • Identify high-potential employees and create development and retention plans to prepare future leaders

Change Agent

  • Use mechanisms to identify trends, risks, and hotspots to inform change plans, de-risk the business, and maximize customer experience.
  • Drive effective change environments by leveraging multiple perspectives in change planning and implementation
  • Influence and coach senior leaders as they build their teams ability to navigate unexpected or continuous changes in the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate to assess whether implemented changes had the intended effects and to determine the durability of those changes over time.

HR Program Implementation

  • Lead the implementation of HR programs and initiatives within assigned business units
  • Measure program effectiveness through appropriate metrics and analytics
  • Adapt corporate HR programs to meet specific business unit needs
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, L&D) to deliver integrated solutions

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with potential for hybrid/flexible work arrangements
  • May require occasional travel to different locations/offices (up to 10%)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a business partner role
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic HR guidance to senior leaders
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in HR, MBA, or related field
  • SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent professional certification
  • Experience in the companys industry or similar business environment
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change initiatives
  • Experience with HR analytics and data-driven decision making
  • Project management experience with HR system implementations
