Job Role: Electrical Estimating Project Manager

Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Operating with a small, experienced team, the focus is on practical delivery, safety, and long-term reliability rather than mass-market services.

Role Overview: We are seeking an Electrical Estimating Project Manager to support estimating and project coordination activities for ongoing electrical works, including control systems and automation-related projects. The role works closely with senior team members, assisting with pricing, technical documentation, and take-offs to ensure estimates are accurate and well-structured.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support electrical estimating activities, including take-offs and pricing inputs for control systems and automation projects
  • Use estimating software and digital tools (including AI-assisted features) to improve accuracy and efficiency of take-offs and documentation
  • Assist with extracting quantities, schedules, and scope details from drawings and PDFs
  • Support cost analysis for labour, materials, and equipment under guidance from senior team members
  • Assist with bid preparation and documentation (pricing support only, not final sign-off)
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to clarify scope and project requirements
  • Oversight of procurement and logistics relating to projects


Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering, electrical estimating, or control and automation environments
  • Experience using electrical estimating and digital take-off tools (e.g., PlanSwift, Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar); exposure to project platforms such as Procore is a plus.
  • Experience using Electrical CAD software; AutoCAD, SolidEdge, EPLAN preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, including LV power, switchboards, lighting, and control/automationsystems
  • Working Knowledge of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Atmospheres (IEC60079)
  • Ability to interpret electrical, control, and automation drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and structured documentation skills
