Job Summary

Responsible for developing and managing plans and testing for recovery. Works in conjunction with Business, Technology, Information Security, and Operations team members, and other stakeholders to create recovery strategies and plans. Tests recovery plans and documents test results. Supports and implements the annual Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment. Manages and coordinates business continuity activities and works closely with all business units to mitigate any effects on the ability to conduct business in the event of a disaster. Possess knowledge of IOS22301.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Specialist will communicate and train business units on the Business Continuity Lifecycle process and work with Business Units to ensure and maintain the lifecycle process
  • Oversee the documentation of recovery plans and conduct various types of business tests and exercises
  • Lead and support the development of business continuity and crisis management for the organization
  • Develop recovery plans. Experience in writing and documenting procedures or processes for business continuity functions
    • Coordinate and support the annual Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment
    • Coordinate the review, maintenance and testing of recovery plans for core business functions, sites, and manufacturing plants
  • Testing; experience in performing various types of recovery testing. This includes Tabletop, Walk-thru, Drill, Functional Testing, Vendor, etc.
  • Crisis Management; experience in supporting crisis meetings and managing disaster events
  • Experience with vendors; working with vendors on recovery planning and testing
  • Reporting; assists the Business Continuity Director in the reporting of the progress and compliance of business continuity processes, readiness, events and test or exercise results, reporting function
  • Must speak fluent English and be able to work with various business functions across the organization and across the globe
Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
  • Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) is a plus
  • Certification in a related field
  • ISO22301 Certification or ISO22301 Audit experience
  • Experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, or related field
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity Management practices and protocols, including in-depth knowledge of international Business Continuity Methodology standards promoted by Business Continuity Institute and International Organization of Standards, Disaster Recovery Institute International
  • Experience with ISO 22301 standards
  • Reasonable depth of exposure or understanding of Business Continuity Management processes and best practices.
  • High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Must have strong proficiency with SharePoint, MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word. Smartsheet experience is a plus
  • Incident or crisis management experience
  • Must be self-starter, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in a complex and changing environment
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong dedication to teamwork and integrity within professional environment.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
