This is a full-time, grant-funded position for 12 months. Hiring of this position is subject to the award of the grant.

About This Role

The SBC and GEDSI Specialist provides technical leadership for all demand generation and community engagement components of the project, ensuring that strategies are effective and systematically integrating a gender-responsive and inclusive lens. This role is responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of SBC strategies, building capacity on SBC and GEDSI, and ensuring community feedback mechanisms are accessible to all.

Required Experience And Education

  • Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Public Health, Communications, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in designing and managing SBC or C4D interventions.
  • Demonstrated technical experience in integrating Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) into program design and monitoring.
  • Proven ability to develop training curricula and facilitate capacity-building sessions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of an evidence-based, gender-responsive project for SBC strategy to increase demand for routine immunization.
  • Provide technical oversight for the development of inclusive IEC materials and the establishment of gender-responsive community feedback mechanisms.
  • Develop curricula and lead capacity-building sessions for project staff, health workers, and community leaders on SBC with gender-sensitive approaches.
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance and mentorship to Senior Social Mobilizers on the implementation of SBC and GEDSI activities.
  • Lead the documentation of best practices related to gender-responsive and inclusive community engagement.
  • Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding Policy.
