Job Description

The Billing Officer’s responsibility is to provide effective support to the Billing/Credit Lead with key responsibilities of the role as follows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoicing customers
  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly billing extracts as required.
  • Monitor, review, and action revenue consignments and miscellaneous charges before invoicing.
  • Review and action customer credit requests.
  • Respond and assist with all customer queries.
  • Processing credit requests
  • Validate rate changes in the finance system to ensure the correct rates have been implemented.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports as required by Finance.
  • Review of all business billing processes to identify possible improvements through standardization, automation

Requirements

Personal Traits

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to problem solve, and proactively troubleshoot queries.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is very important in this role.
  • We would like someone who has a “can-do” attitude, the ability to have 100 different things thrown at them and not feel overwhelmed by it.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in a Billing role is mandatory (ideally 2 – 5 years), someone who can just jump in and own the role with little management.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intermediate skills in the use of Word, Excel, and PC based financial systems
  • Ability to time manage successfully to achieve objectives within required timelines
  • Exposure to the Transport & Logistics industry will be highly regarded
  • PeopleSoft (or equivalent system) experience would be an advantage
