Architect I - Retail

Role description:

This role will be responsible in managing technical aspects of smaller and/or less complex tasks or components of larger tasks, meeting financial, quality, time frame and health and safety objectives. Architect I should manage the delivery of elements of larger projects in accordance with Arcadis management systems to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets. Typically assigned to provide a controlling technical role on medium size and/or moderately complex tasks in single discipline. Coordinates and manages teams of single (own) discipline designers and technicians. This is a task Management Role in line with Arcadis Task Manager Academy competence requirements. This role works to ensure maximum internal stakeholder satisfaction, championing care and proactively working with internal stakeholders.

Role accountabilities:

• Perform role in accordance with Arcadis behavioural framework
• Promote Arcadis Health and Safety Principles during the planning and delivery of work
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the integrity of project interfaces
• Review own work to ensure that it meets specified standards before checking by others
• Progress review of team’s task prior to GEC final review and US Retail Team Final Review.
• Prepare documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements and relevant national standards and codes of practice
• Develop and maintain technical knowledge (for example, national regulations, regulatory guidance, national standards, codes of practice and Arcadis procedures) to ensure ongoing personal effectiveness. Knowledge in US, UK, China, Middle East, Philippine local planning codes is an advantage.
• Plan assigned project work and allocate work to ensure timely delivery and effective utilization of resources
• Work collaboratively with other sectors and disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution
• Monitor the performance of project team members, identifying and ensuring any issues are resolved, in coordination with Team Leads, Task Managers and Line Managers
• Full understanding of design deliverables, project scope and budget.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Registered Architect with demonstrable experience on wide range of complex projects at different stages
• Experience with retail projects is a plus
• Proficiency in Revit, Enscape and InDesign
• Minimum 7 years experience architecture design works
• Preferably good in manual design sketches
• At least 6 years of overall Retail Design working experience, including at least 3 years of BIM tasks, 1 year of site experience and 1 year of minor leadership role (technical/supervisor)
• Competent in design and planning skills relevant to the area of work and awareness of related disciplines
