Job Description

The Store Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the store by handling daily operational tasks efficiently. The individual in this position will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, managing stock, and maintaining a clean store environment. The Store Assistant is expected to work collaboratively with the store team, ensuring that customer needs are met promptly and efficiently. This role requires a dynamic personality with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced retail environment, as well as a willingness to take initiative to support store objectives and improve customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in finding products and provide detailed product information.
  • Ensure the sales floor is fully stocked and organized at all times.
  • Perform cashier duties, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Help with inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organize displays according to company standards.
  • Support promotional initiatives by setting up displays and tag products appropriately.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the store team to achieve sales targets and improve store performance.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and properly storing merchandise in the stockroom.
  • Conduct daily opening and closing store procedures as required.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss store operations and performance improvements.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding customer comments and store conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required for this role.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Basic math skills are necessary for handling sales transactions accurately.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like lifting.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
