Role Overview

Mercor is partnering with a leading developer documentation team to support critical technical writing and API documentation workflows. This contract role is ideal for professionals experienced in OpenAPI/Swagger, API content development, and static site documentation builds. Writers will enhance clarity, accuracy, and usability across developer-facing materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Import, validate, and correct OpenAPI specifications
• Write clear descriptions for endpoints, parameters, request/response bodies
• Create practical usage examples, document pagination, auth, and rate limits
• Generate and deploy HTML docs using tools like Docusaurus or MkDocs
• Convert Git logs and issue tracker updates into polished release notes
• Test code samples, verify links, and review documentation PRs
• Resolve documentation build errors via CI/CD and local testing
• Update KB articles with accurate product/version details

Ideal Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical writing or developer documentation
• Expertise with OpenAPI/Swagger and Markdown
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and doc build tools
• Familiarity with SDK, API, CLI, or developer UI documentation
• Strong attention to detail and concise writing ability
