Job Summary

We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mortgage Processor to support mortgage brokers in managing end-to-end loan applications for Australian clients. The role involves verifying documents, assessing financials, liaising with lenders, and ensuring compliance with NCCP and responsible lending requirements.

You’ll handle PAYG and self-employed assessments, process commercial and trust loan structures, and maintain accurate data in CRM systems and lender portals. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Australian lender policies, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong compliance mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and verify loan details in CRM systems and lender portals.
  • Review supporting documents to ensure compliance with Australian lending standards.
  • Assess PAYG income using payslips, group certificates, and tax returns.
  • Analyse financials for self-employed applicants (tax returns, financial statements, BAS, etc.).
  • Process commercial lending structures, including trusts, companies, and SMSFs.
  • Liaise with lenders to clarify outstanding documentation or conditions.
  • Monitor loan application progress and flag delays or issues to brokers promptly.
  • Provide administrative support to brokers to ensure a smooth loan process.
  • Keep brokers informed on application status and outstanding tasks.
  • Ensure all submissions meet NCCP and responsible lending requirements.
  • Maintain adherence to lender policies and internal compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ year experience in mortgage processing (bank or broker channel) within the Australian market.
  • Strong understanding of lender policy for PAYG, self-employed, and commercial scenarios.
  • Experience working with trust, company, and SMSF loan structures.
  • Familiarity with broker CRMs such as Mercury, MyCRM, or similar platforms.
  • High level of document analysis and financial literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong compliance mindset.

Preferred Attributes

  • Previous experience working as part of an offshore or remote loan processing team.
  • Exposure to various lenders and aggregator platforms in Australia.
  • Familiarity with compliance tools and responsible lending guidelines.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
