Job Title: Team Lead – Legal (Contract Lifecycle Management)

Location: Mohali, Punjab

Experience Required: 5–7 years total, with minimum 2 years in a team leadership role

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Team Lead with strong experience in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) to manage and oversee a team of legal professionals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of contract processes, excellent people management skills, and the ability to drive performance, accuracy, and compliance in all contract-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Supervision:
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of legal associates working on contract drafting, review, abstraction, and negotiation.
  • Monitor team performance, set KPIs, and ensure timely delivery of assignments with high quality.
  • Provide training and continuous feedback to team members to improve productivity and legal acumen.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM):
  • Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of commercial contracts including drafting, redlining, reviewing, negotiation support, execution, renewal, and termination.
  • Ensure adherence to client-specific guidelines, internal SLAs, and legal best practices.
  • Support the implementation and use of CLM tools or platforms such as Icertis, Docusign, Ironclad, Linksquare etc.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Liaise with internal departments and external clients for smooth contract execution.
  • Participate in client calls, provide updates, and help in resolving contract-related queries or issues.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for automation, template development, and process enhancement within the CLM function.
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation and SOPs for the team.
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
  • Identify legal and business risks in contracts and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all contract practices align with applicable laws, company policies, and client requirements.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • LLB or equivalent law degree from a reputed institution.
  • 5–7 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a team leadership role.
  • Strong experience in Contract Lifecycle Management – especially in commercial, procurement, SaaS, NDA, MSA, SOW, and similar contracts.
  • Hands-on experience with CLM tools (e.g., Icertis, Docusign, Link Square etc.) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; knowledge of legal tech platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced legal environment.
