Senior Software Engineer- Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, AWS, and modern data technologies like Python, Apache Spark, and NoSQL databases. The role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines to support analytical and regulatory needs in the banking domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable and secure data pipelines using Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, and AWS services.
  • Develop data transformation workflows and modular SQL logic using dbt for a centralized data warehouse in Snowflake.
  • Build batch and near real-time data processing solutions using Apache Spark and Python.
  • Work with structured and unstructured banking datasets stored across S3, NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB), and relational databases.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, and observability through logging, testing, and monitoring tools.
  • Support data needs for compliance, regulatory reporting, risk, fraud, and customer analytics.
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive data aligned with banking compliance standards (e.g., PII masking, role-based access).
  • Collaborate closely with business users, data analysts, and data scientists to deliver production-grade datasets.
  • Implement best practices for code versioning, CI/CD, and environment management

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in banking, fintech, or regulated industries.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security)
    • dbt (modular SQL transformation, documentation, testing)
    • Airflow (orchestration, DAGs)
    • AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, IAM)
    • Python (ETL scripting, data manipulation)
    • Apache Spark (batch/stream processing using PySpark or Scala)
    • NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience in performance optimization and cost-efficient query design.
  • Exposure to data governance, compliance, and security in the banking industry.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and complex data transformations.
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in banking/financial services
  • Knowledge of Kafka or other streaming platforms.
  • Exposure to data quality tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Soda).
  • Certifications in Snowflake, AWS, or dbt.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
