Position Overview

The Senior Telecom Engineer leads technical development of telecommunications system design for offshore and onshore plants, including communication, network, radio, security, and integrated telecom system deliverables for offshore and onshore plant projects. This role takes ownership of complex design calculations and deliverables, ensures technical quality and compliance, resolves engineering issues, and supports junior team members and cross-functional coordination across EPC phases.

The position supports integrated telecom and communications solutions covering communication networks, radio, CCTV, access control, public address and related systems required for safe and effective project operations. It is expected to coordinate closely with electrical, instrumentation, process, layout, vendor, construction, and commissioning teams so that telecom deliverables are technically complete, constructible, and aligned with project standards and operational needs.

At this level, the role independently manages complex work packages, reviews deliverables, supports problem solving, and provides practical guidance to junior team members. The position is expected to bring stronger judgment on technical and execution matters, strengthen coordination efficiency, and improve delivery quality through hands-on project experience.

Key Responsibility

• Lead telecom design development, review deliverables, and resolve integration issues with electrical, control, marine, and IT-related interfaces.
• Develop or review telecom deliverables such as system architecture, block diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules, specifications, data sheets, and vendor interfaces.
• Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, control systems, marine, and IT-related stakeholders to ensure reliable and integrated telecom solutions.
• Review and check discipline deliverables prepared by junior engineers or designers and provide technical coaching to improve team capability.
• Represent the discipline in technical meetings, design reviews, and client or vendor discussions for assigned topics.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3~7 years of relevant experience in offshore and/or onshore plant, EPC, oil and gas, energy, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications engineering, applicable international codes and standards (such as API, ISO, IEC, DNV, ABS, NFPA, OSHA or equivalent as relevant to the discipline).
• Experience with telecom system design standards, network architecture, radio/PA/GA/CCTV systems, and vendor package integration is preferred.
• Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English communication skills are preferred; additional language capability is an advantage in multinational project environments.
