The Gas Power Technical Compliance organization (GPTC) provides technical guidance, leadership, and tactical directions to drive Process and Functional safety for product (gas turbines, steam turbines and generators) and plant systems (HRSG, water steam cycle and BOP) to be integrated into a power plant for HD and Aero businesses.

GPTC provides coverage in expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of Power Generation equipment including New Product Introduction (NPI), commercial phase (Inquiry to Order -ITO), and execution (Order to Remittance - OTR).

GPTC is seeking a new team member to drive plant process safety and functional safety projects from commercial phase to end of execution, covering Heavy Duty and Aero projects globally. The goal of the process and functional safety is aimed to ensure a safe operation of a power plant, in compliance with technical regulations, associated Standards and GE Vernova - Gas Power requirements.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute process and functional safety assessment for multiple projects on plant systems (HRSG, water steam cycle and BOP) following Process Safety methodology based on IEC61882 and Functional Safety process based on IEC61511 for Gas Power.
  • Monitor progresses to ensure GE Vernova priorities are met: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in this order.
  • Work closely with all other interface functions to execute Process and Functional Safety, ensuring that hazards are identified and mitigated, and the required actions are correctly followed up.
  • Support business initiatives in Quality, Lean, Continuous Improvement related to Process and Functional Safety.
  • Support continuous improvement to meet or exceed the annual priorities.
  • Lead, drive, and resolve safety and quality issues for successful execution of Process and Functional Safety in projects, including partnering with site teams to resolve site commissioning issue for successful startups and commissioning.
  • Interact with Authorities and Inspection/Certification Agencies to validate compliance to safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Promote Company culture and the GE Vernova Ways

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Good communication and presentation abilities
  • Good organizational skills Good skills working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Occasional travel required.

  • Previous work experience in international companies and engineering
  • Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in priorities.
  • Technical Acumen: Ability to quickly understand technical concepts and effectively communicate them to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Basic knowledge of Process Safety IEC61882, Functional safety international standard IEC6151 and ISO 9001:2015on quality management skills.
