Job Description

The Retail Sales Assistant plays a crucial role in boosting a retail store's sales results by providing excellent customer service and effective sales strategies. As a key team member, you will be responsible for creating a positive shopping experience for customers, ensuring product availability, and maintaining the visual standard of the store. You will engage with customers to understand their needs, recommend products, and process transactions efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by providing detailed product information and recommendations.
  • Ensure that merchandise is correctly priced, displayed, and organized on shelves.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the store's point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and ensure it meets neatness and order standards.
  • Replenish stock and manage inventory levels to optimize product availability.
  • Participate in promotional events and special sales campaigns as required.
  • Achieve or exceed the sales targets and key performance indicators set by management.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve store performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in conducting inventory audits and updating inventory records regularly.
  • Provide feedback to management on customer preferences and inventory requirements.
  • Stay updated with current product knowledge and retail protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
  • Previous retail sales or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale software and handling cash transactions.
  • Physical ability to lift and arrange products as required by the role.
  • Reliable and trustworthy; ability to work independently when necessary.
