Job Description

As a Restaurant Captain, you hold a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless dining experience for every guest. Your expertise in coordinating team efforts, maintaining service standards, and fostering an inviting atmosphere are crucial for our restaurant's success. You will be responsible for supervising the dining room, coordinating the activities of staff and ensuring the highest level of service to guests. With a focus on both team leadership and exceptional customer service, you manage the smooth operation of the restaurant floor. You're expected to prioritize guest satisfaction and implement effective solutions to any issues that arise during service. Furthermore, as a Restaurant Captain, you have the opportunity to mentor junior staff, contributing to team growth and upholding brand standards.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure smooth operation of restaurant service during shifts.
  • Coordinate with restaurant staff to ensure effective service delivery to guests.
  • Train, mentor, and support staff in delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Address guest inquiries, requests, or complaints in a professional manner.
  • Maintain an organized dining area, including table setting and cleanliness.
  • Inspect the quality and appearance of food before serving to guests.
  • Liaise with the kitchen to ensure timing and quality of orders are met.
  • Monitor inventory and communicate with management about supply needs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the dining area.
  • Assist in coordinating table reservations and managing seating arrangements.
  • Host regular meetings to communicate service standards and updates to staff.
  • Facilitate a team environment that encourages growth and professional development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or hospitality degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written for team interaction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software, POS systems, and other relevant tools.
