Job Description

A Procurement Officer plays a crucial role in managing the purchasing and supply chain functions of a company. This position involves ensuring that the organization's purchasing policies align with company objectives and regulations. As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring quality products and services at competitive prices to ensure smooth operations. You will collaborate with various departments and external vendors, negotiating contracts and discovering innovative approaches to cost reduction without sacrificing quality. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and exceptional analytical capabilities to successfully forecast and manage procurement activities. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the strategic and day-to-day operations of the supply chain function while developing solid relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and favorable contracts.
  • Review purchasing agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
  • Analyze and report on procurement trends to guide future purchasing strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstock and ensure supply availability.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other related documentation.
  • Resolve issues related to purchase orders, contracts, and delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage supplier relationships to enhance communication and performance quality.
  • Recommend process improvements to optimize procurement efficiencies and cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role for at least two years.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven success in securing favorable contract terms.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams effectively.
  • Ability to analyze market conditions and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools to manage purchasing activities efficiently.
  • Familiarity with procurement regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
