Job Description

As an Optometrist, you will be a crucial member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing essential vision care services to a diverse group of patients. Your primary mission will be to evaluate patients’ vision, diagnose visual issues, and prescribe corrective lenses or treatment plans. Working closely with other healthcare professionals, you will utilize your expertise to help improve patients’ quality of life through better vision. With your comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in optometric tools and technologies, you will ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care possible. Your role also involves educating patients on the importance of maintaining healthy vision and preventing eye problems. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough eye examinations using specialized optometric equipment and tools.
  • Identify and diagnose vision impairments or diseases affecting sight and overall eye health.
  • Prescribe appropriate corrective lenses, treatments, or therapies to address vision problems.
  • Educate patients about eye health, vision disorders, and proactive maintenance of eye hygiene.
  • Provide pre-and post-operative care to patients undergoing eye surgeries and procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers for comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients’ vision conditions and treatment plans.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry through continuous education and training.
  • Manage and maintain optometry equipment ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  • Advise patients on proper usage and care of their contact lenses and eyeglasses.
  • Engage in professional practice management, including appointment scheduling and billing processes.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote vision care awareness.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • State licensure to practice optometry and prescribe medication when required.
  • Strong understanding of optometric procedures, tools, and patient care techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and staff.
  • Detail-oriented and precision-driven approach to address patients' vision care needs.
  • Proficiency in using modern optometric technologies and software for patient records.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current in the field.
