Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized work environment at all times.
  • Wash, peel, chop, cut, or cook various foods as required for meal preparation.
  • Ensure all food items are properly stored to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Assist with inventory control, checking deliveries, and ensuring quality standards.
  • Participate in kitchen brigade briefings and follow set instructions accordingly.
  • Adhere to all food safety, health, and safety regulations in the kitchen.
  • Assist in basic cooking duties like frying, boiling, and preparing simple dishes.
  • Support senior chefs with kitchen duties, ensuring smooth operational workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and manage workload as directed.
  • Help in the plating and presentation of dishes in line with restaurant standards.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment functionality by regular cleaning.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A passion for cooking and strong interest in culinary arts is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively under the pressure of a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details for food preparation tasks.
  • Excellent ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing demands.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen terminologies and culinary processes is beneficial.
