Job Description

The role of an Accounts Assistant is pivotal in ensuring the smooth financial operations of any organization. As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budget management. You will work closely with accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records for the organization.
  • Reconcile invoices and identify any discrepancies in financial documents.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process with precise data entry.
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and financial spreadsheets.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed.
  • Assist with budget preparation and planning activities as requested.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure data accuracy and financial compliance.
  • Manage office supplies inventory related to accounting department operations.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in processing invoices and payroll with careful attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and company information.
  • Contribute to forecast financial trends and identify cost reduction opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or a similar role in finance.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to spot numerical discrepancies.
  • Highly motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
