A/C Technician (225-919)

An A/C Technician, also known as an Air Conditioning Technician, is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. These technicians are tasked with ensuring optimal climate control in a variety of environments to maintain comfort and air quality for occupants. They work with various types of air conditioning units and systems, and their job involves troubleshooting issues, performing preventative maintenance, and complying with safety standards and regulations. Problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential traits of a successful A/C Technician. They must consistently update their knowledge of industry standards, new technologies, and energy efficiency practices to deliver the best solutions to their clients.

Responsibilities

• Install new air conditioning systems and ensure proper configuration and setup.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of air conditioning systems and components.
• Diagnose malfunctioning A/C systems and pinpoint issues for efficient repair.
• Repair or replace defective air conditioning parts and accessories promptly.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Provide detailed and accurate service reports and documentation after every job.
• Advise clients on how to maximise efficiency and lifespan of their A/C systems.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and system advancements.
• Collaborate with other technicians and team members for complex installations.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Provide clients with excellent customer service and address their concerns effectively.
• Initiate emergency repairs outside of standard business hours when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification preferred.
• Proven experience as an A/C Technician or in a similar HVAC role.
• Strong knowledge of cooling, heating, and ventilation system principles.
• Proficiency with tools and machinery used in A/C installation and repair.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and adept at reaching various client locations as required.
• Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and work in various conditions.
