Position Overview
The HPP Sales and Business Development Manager – South Asia role is responsible for accelerating growth in new and existing markets across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. This position leads business development, customer engagement, and market expansion for the High Performance Polymers and product lines.
Key Responsibilities
Drive business development and prospecting for new customers, applications, and markets across South Asia.
Initiate new product development opportunities within the SPA segment when high-quality prospects are identified.
Manage sales, pricing, and client relationships for key nominated accounts, serving as the primary customer interface.
Develop and execute annual business plans to achieve targeted volume, revenue, and margin growth.
Contribute to marketing plans through competitive benchmarking and market intelligence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product, Technical Service, and Sales to conduct market research and analysis.
Provide clear and regular reporting, including monthly sales updates, customer visit reports, and opportunity tracking in SF database.
Analyze import statistics using tools such as S&P Global, Statistica, and Frost & Sullivan to guide market prospecting.
Identify and map value chains for new markets, defining key players and contact networks.
Participate in trade organizations to strengthen industry networks and enhance market visibility.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Polymer, or Material Science/Engineering.
Experience: 8+ years in sales and business development within Engineering Polymers; experience in Oleochemical business is an advantage.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage key accounts and coordinate with global Sales and R&D teams.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of High Performance Polymers, Oleris® applications, and market analysis tools.
Soft Skills: Analytical, problem-solving, innovative, and business-minded; high autonomy, self-motivation, and strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% within India and the South Asia region.
