Job Description

RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Engineer to join its office in Mumbai within the Plant Engineering Division.

Mission

The Senior Piping Engineer leads technical engineering activities for piping design, including design appraisal and certification of new and existing piping. This role ensures compliance with project requirements, manages project interfaces, and supervises information flow while maintaining and developing technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures, and tools for proposals and project execution. The Senior Engineer also focuses on capitalizing on project experience to improve and harmonize work methodologies.

Key Accountabilities

8 to 10 years of work experience in piping discipline.

Must have worked on at least 2 multidisciplinary large projects as Lead engineer.

Prepare and review of engineering deliverables such as Piping and Valve material specifications, support standards, Equipment layouts, 3D Model etc

Must have working knowledge of Piping detail design, International codes and standards.

Review of 3D Model, clash checks and its resolution using Navis software.

Preparation of MTOs

Experience in Oil and Gas Hydrocarbon offshore facilities, refinery projects and Jetty, terminals will be an added advantage.

Must have hands on experience in Tank farm, pressure vessels, fire water systems and Pig traps piping.

Must be familiar with SP3D, E3D or AUTOCAD plant 3D software.

Performing Stress analysis of piping system using CAESAR-II and review of stress reports submitted by vendors and contractors.

Flange leakage calculations and Nozzle stress checking.

Dynamic and vibration analysis of piping systems.

Piping Design, Engineering Studies and Analyses:

  • Coordinate all activities related to piping design, including existing and new projects.
  • Manage all internal and external project interfaces to ensure timely provision of necessary input and information to meet project execution schedules.

Resource Management:

  • Coordinate resources assigned to the discipline.
  • Supervise and coordinate all engineering, design, and drafting activities.

Development and Reporting:

  • Develop personnel skills and flexibility through work assignments, responsibilities, seminars, and courses.
  • Ensure the capitalization of project experience to improve work methodologies.

Project Oversight:

  • Control project schedules and ensure adherence to timelines.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in piping engineering, with a strong background in design.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams and projects.
  • Proficiency in software tools for piping design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise in project scheduling, resource management, and cost optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, project teams, and subcontractors.
  • Leadership abilities to guide and motivate engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
