The Senior Associate Specialist, HR Data and Digital is a developing subject matter expert, responsible for assisting with the delivery of HR data and digital activities.
The role supports the maintenance of the HR information systems, in addition to other systems supported by the HR team, alongside compiling reports, analyzing data and communicating people metrics to senior stakeholders.
The Senior Associate Specialist, HR Data and Digital analyzes data to identify areas of concern in specific areas relating to talent and technical capability in the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensures data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyze data flows. Extract and collate data and write and maintain reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools and is responsible for loading data into the systems and driving data governance.
- Assists in providing accessibility, retrievability, security and protection of data in an ethical manner, maintaining and implementing information handling procedures. Maintains proper change management documentation to satisfy the company’s internal/external audit controls.
- As a Systems specialist, performs routine and scheduled HRIS activities and support all HRIS upgrades, patches, fixes, testing and other technical projects as assigned. Assists with testing and resolve system queries within the agreed service level agreement. Assists with maintenance of the HRIS and related HR systems.
- Implements tasks as indicated on the roadmap for platforms and conducts system administration checks to ensure that systems are operating smoothly.
- Participates in HRIS system release and integration testing, including testing and supporting users throughout the process.
- Identifies, recommends and tracks opportunities for process and operational improvements. Analyzes and recommends enhancements to business processes and other aspects of system configuration to streamline operations and optimize efficiency while ensuring data integrity. Documents and maintains HRIS procedures, user documentation and system updates.
- Gathers information to enable incident resolution and promptly allocates incidents as appropriate.
- As a Data Specialist, generates actionable data, insights, and recommendations through clear, succinct reports to drive strategic workforce initiatives and Human Resources operations
- Applies data analysis, data modelling, and quality assurance techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of business processes, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and associated components
- Enables the availability, integrity and searchability of information through the application of formal data structures and protection measures
- Develops new (or amend existing) reporting and analytics policies and processes to keep up to date with industry best practice
To thrive in this role, you need to have:
- Developing understanding of HR data management principles, including data collection, validation, integration, and reporting.
- Developing knowledge of data analytics concepts and techniques, with the ability to perform data analysis, interpret findings, and provide valuable insights.
- Familiarity with HR technology systems and platforms, including HRIS, talent management software, and digital HR tools.
- Developing knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques to create compelling and informative visual representations of HR data.
- Developing understanding of emerging digital trends in HR, such as AI-driven HR applications, employee experience platforms, and automation.
- Developing understanding of data governance principles, data privacy regulations, and compliance with data protection laws.
- Developing ability to use data analytics tools and software to perform complex analyses on HR data sets.
- Developing proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or other similar tools, to create interactive and visually appealing HR data dashboards.
- Displays problem-solving skills to identify data issues, address challenges, and propose solutions.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey HR data insights to team members and stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR business partners, IT, and data science teams, to support HR data and digital initiatives.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of HR data analysis and reporting.
- Exposure to data visualization tools and the ability to create meaningful visual representations of HR data.
Academic qualifications and certifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Information Technology / Data and Analytics or related field.
- Workday Administrator Accreditation is highly beneficial.
- Relevant data / analytics certification(s) preferred.
Required experience:
- Moderate level of experience in data reporting and visualization.
- Moderate level of demonstrated experience in performing data analytics, using statistical techniques, and interpreting results to drive HR insights.
- Moderate level of experience working with HR technology systems and digital HR tools is advantageous.
