The Product Manager – Savings Account is responsible for defining and executing product strategies that drive business growth and customer engagement. This role involves long-term strategic planning, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product development, lifecycle management, and stakeholder adoption. The role also includes program management of product upgrades and enhancements, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate with Business/Product Heads to devise growth strategies for savings account products.
Create long-term strategic plans by identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing product investment opportunities.
Conduct extensive analysis of the value chain, market dynamics, and external forces to inform product decisions.
Lead key projects and manage early-stage initiatives to ensure successful execution.
Support the implementation of strategic initiatives prioritized by the bank.
Conduct market and technology research, including competitive analysis, to guide product strategy.
Evaluate external trends in payments, industry verticals, and technology disruptions to identify emerging opportunities.
Analyze the competitive landscape and deliver actionable recommendations (e.g., learn, build, buy).
Develop robust business cases and strategic rationale for product investments.
Partner with product and banker leadership teams to prioritize and track product investments.
Create insightful management reports on product delivery and commercialization status.
Collaborate with marketing for customer communication, product promotion, and regulatory compliance.
Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, customer operations, strategy, and analytics teams to deliver projects.
Secondary Responsibilities
Conduct knowledge sessions with stakeholders to enhance product awareness and drive continuous improvement.
Provide training to branch/channel teams and newly onboarded employees as needed.
What We Are Looking For
Education
Graduation: Full time graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
Post-graduation: MBA from a recognised institution.
Experience
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in banking, preferably in product management or strategy roles within BFSI industry.
Skills and Attributes
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
Experience in product lifecycle management and cross-functional collaboration.
Proficiency in market research, competitive analysis, and business case development.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with banking products, especially savings accounts and retail liabilities.
