About the Role:

Our Buildings Business delivers integrated, multi-layered solutions specializing in Building Services and Intelligent Automated Systems. These solutions enable customers—such as hospitals, data centers, commercial and residential buildings, hotels, and pharmaceutical industries—to intelligently monitor, meter, and control their assets in real time, thereby reducing energy consumption, improving reliability, and enhancing operational quality.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager - Engineering & Commissioning with over 20 years of industry experience to lead and drive engineering excellence across our projects portfolio. This is a full-time, on-roll position based in Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a large Engineering and Commissioning team consisting of 50+ on-roll employees and 50+ contract resources across India.
• Drive project delivery excellence, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline adherence for large-scale projects (value ₹30 Cr and above).
• Oversee design, engineering, and commissioning of IBMS systems including BMS, Security Systems, and other Intelligent Building Management Systems.
• Ensure value engineering, risk assessment, and adherence to all technical and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with regional project heads, bid teams, and other process leaders to ensure smooth execution and alignment with business objectives.
• Manage customer relationships, including resolving escalations, engaging with demanding clients in critical sectors such as data centers, hospitality, and life sciences.
• Strategize and plan for business growth, including talent hiring, training, and team development to build a high-performing, motivated workforce.
• Promote a customer-first mindset, demonstrate ownership, and lead from the front in challenging project scenarios.
• Coordinate with global teams, product owners, and international customers to ensure alignment with global standards and solution architectures.
• Travel up to 30% across India to project sites and customer locations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 20 years of total experience, with at least 10 years in the IBMS industry (BMS + Security Systems + other IBMS solutions).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Design and Commissioning of building automation or similar systems.
• Proven people management experience handling a minimum of 30 on-roll employees.
• Strong technical expertise in modern building automation systems, communication protocols, and industry trends.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with large customer bases and high commercial values.
• Strategic thinker with a process-oriented and innovative mindset.
• Experience in value engineering, risk management, and project governance processes.
• Familiarity with Schneider Electric product lines (DDC, PLC, PSO, BMS, IBMS) is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation).
• Proven experience as Engineering Head / Project Manager / Commissioning Head in the IBMS or Building Automation domain.
• Exposure to global engineering processes or collaboration with international teams.
