Position Overview
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to work with our Loan Originating System application development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Loan Originating System platform, collaborate with Product Owners to gather requirements, create detailed user stories in Jira, document third-party API integrations, and support developers with technical analysis. This role requires the ability to set up and test the system locally while working closely with development teams to deliver product enhancements.
## Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis: Work with Product Owners to understand and analyse business requirements for Loan Originating
System application changes
- User Story Creation: Write detailed user stories with acceptance criteria in Jira for development teams
- API Documentation: Read, understand, and document third-party API specifications including request/response formats
- Developer Support: Provide technical analysis and additional inputs to assist developers during implementation
- Local System Setup: Configure and maintain local Loan Originating System environment for testing and validation purposes
- Testing Support: Perform functional testing and validation of implemented features
## Technical Skills
API Analysis and Documentation
- API Understanding: Read and comprehend REST API documentation and specifications
- Request/Response Analysis: Document API request formats, parameters, and response structures
- Integration Mapping: Map third-party API data to Loan Originating System data structures
- Error Handling: Document error scenarios and exception handling for API integrations
## Development Support Tools
- Postman or Similar: API testing and documentation tools
- Browser Developer Tools: Basic debugging and network analysis
## Professional Experience
- 7-9 Years: Business analysis, product development, or technical analysis experience
- Software Industry: Experience working with software products and development teams
- Requirements Management: Experience gathering requirements and creating user stories
- API Integration: Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations
## Communication Skills
- Written Communication: Excellent written communication skills for documentation and user stories
- Verbal Communication: Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Technical Translation: Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
## Financial Services Knowledge (Advantage)
Banking and Credit Union Operations
- Loan Origination: Understanding of loan application, underwriting, and approval processes
- Financial Analysis: Basic knowledge of financial statements, ratios, and credit analysis
- Risk Management: Understanding of credit risk, portfolio management, and regulatory requirements
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements
- Loan Originating System Domain Knowledge
- ProfitCents: Financial statement analysis and benchmarking concepts
- Loan Management: Loan lifecycle, portfolio monitoring, and performance tracking
- Risk Assessment: Credit scoring, risk rating, and underwriting principles
- Reporting: Financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and business intelligence
