Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, testing, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of elevator systems.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and routine safety inspections.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, electronic, and control-system faults.
  • Attend emergency breakdown and service calls and restore equipment operation safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect and maintain elevator components including motors, brakes, cables, pulleys, doors, sensors, switches, control panels, and safety devices.
  • Perform adjustments, lubrication, alignment, cleaning, and replacement of worn or defective components.
  • Test elevator operation after repairs and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable performance.
  • Read and understand electrical diagrams, technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Assist with installation and modernization/upgradation of elevator systems where required.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable elevator safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and records of parts replaced.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, building management, and customers regarding service activities and technical issues.
  • Identify recurring problems and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts required for service activities.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of elevator electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Knowledge of elevator control panels, motors, sensors, switches, door systems, and safety circuits.
  • Ability to use electrical and mechanical testing tools.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a technical team.
  • Good communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer/service locations.
  • Ability to respond to emergency breakdown calls when required.

Education & Experience

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline.
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience in elevator/lift installation, maintenance, servicing, or repair.
  • Experience with residential, commercial, or industrial elevators is preferred.
  • Freshers with relevant ITI/Diploma qualifications may be considered for junior positions.
