Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Programming team. The role involves automation programming, control-system development, testing, commissioning and project execution for process equipment, particularly in the pharmaceutical and food-processing industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, test and commission control systems for industrial equipment and process systems.
  • Select suitable PLC, HMI and SCADA systems based on customer URS requirements.
  • Develop I/O lists in accordance with P&ID and URS requirements.
  • Develop programming logic and manage automation control-system projects.
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Evaluate scope changes and communicate client requirements or updates to the Project Manager.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and P&ID drawings.
  • Perform basic electrical and instrumentation wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and project commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and customers during project execution and commissioning.
  • Prepare and work with functional specifications and validation documentation where required.
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in automation engineering.
  • Prior experience in pharma equipment and process automation is mandatory.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
  • Experience in programming, testing and commissioning of control systems.
  • Ability to develop I/O lists based on P&ID and URS requirements.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and instrumentation wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Programming experience in .NET, VB/VB.NET, SQL/T-SQL/SQL+ or other high-level programming languages.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar design software will be an advantage.
  • Exposure to FAT and commissioning processes.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours during commissioning activities.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in pharma/process automation, strong PLC/HMI/SCADA knowledge, and practical exposure to automation programming, FAT and commissioning.
