The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and coordination of mechanical building services for high-rise construction projects, including apartment buildings, hotels, and mixed-use developments. The role will work closely with Architecture, Structure, Electrical, and other MEP teams to ensure that mechanical systems are properly designed, coordinated, and delivered in line with project requirements and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems for high-rise and multi-storey building projects in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
Prepare and review mechanical design calculations, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed mechanical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD, ensuring proper integration with other building services.
Prepare BOQs, specifications, equipment schedules, and other technical documents required for design and project execution.
Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and other MEP disciplines to identify and resolve design clashes and interface issues.
Review design requirements, drawings, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with approved design intent, project specifications, and applicable standards.
Provide technical support during construction, review site-related design issues, and assist in resolving discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
Identify practical and cost-effective design solutions while maintaining required performance, quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Provide timely technical inputs to the Project Management and Construction teams to support smooth execution of mechanical works.
Qualification & Experience
B.E./B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
PEC Registration is mandatory.
2–3 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Services Design.
Hands-on experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting design for multi-storey/high-rise buildings.
Good understanding of relevant codes, standards, and mechanical design practices.
Experience in preparing and reviewing design calculations, drawings, BOQs, and technical documents.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
Knowledge of Revit will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, technical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
