Position Overview

Team is looking for a Senior Driver Developer to design and implement the next generation computing platforms in Automotive & other general embedded verticals. You will be part of a development team responsible for creating software drivers to support next-gen hardware peripherals on some of the most advanced hardware platforms available. You must be someone with ideas and real passion for software delivered to maximize reuse, efficiency, and simplicity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Wi-Fi and Networking driver components in an open-development environment.
• Create and document software specifications and designs that address the needs of QNX customers.
• Provide project estimates for requirement, design, implementation, and test efforts.
• Provide clear communication with development team members, technical leads, and management on project status, risks and approaches.
• Conduct design reviews, code reviews and unit test with technical peers.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve potentially complex problems and inadequacies in software.
• Liaises with customers regarding product performance, problems, and system design.
• Develop custom software solutions based on customer requirements.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of current software department approaches and standards through communication with development team members, technical leads, and management.
• Coach and mentor team on engineering best practices such as writing clean code, designing scalable, reliable, and performant software solutions, set and ensure compliance to software quality standards, safety standards etc.
  
  

• Proven experience in Ethernet / network drivers & Wi-Fi drivers.
• Hands on experience in WLAN 802.11 MAC features like 11n
• Knowledgeable about SDIO/PCIe based Wi-Fi chips
• Good knowledge of different authentication methods on Wi-Fi
• Programming languages expertise in C, Python
• Good knowledge in Linux OS, Windows OS internals
• Static analysis tools like Coverity etc.
• Unit / Integration testing using scripting (Python, Shell)
• Combo chip drivers like Wi-Fi+BT is a big plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Engineering related field, or equivalent practical experience with a proven track record in technical roles
• Expertise in troubleshooting and debugging (by instrumentation, trace logging, core-analysis, applying various tools to extract information, code-reviews, JTAG, etc.)
