Position Summary
The Sr. Manager, Engagement & Development leads the India-based team responsible for training management, learning content design, and training logistics. This role is accountable for establishing an effective operating model for the team, implementing consistent processes and ways of working, and ensuring learning support activities are coordinated and delivered efficiently.
A key priority for this leader will be to quickly bring the team and its workstreams together by establishing clear roles, workflows, handoffs, service expectations, and accountability. The Sr. Manager will provide day-to-day leadership and direction, manage work intake and priorities, identify and resolve operational barriers, and create an environment that supports high-quality and timely delivery.
The role partners closely with the AVP of Talent Management and, as needed, the AVP of Leadership Development. While primarily responsible for leading the team and its operations, the Sr. Manager may provide hands-on support for training management, content development, or training logistics when business needs require.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operating Model
Lead, coach, develop, and manage a team of four professionals supporting learning and development activities.
Establish an integrated operating model across training management, content design, and training logistics.
Define clear roles, responsibilities, workflows, handoffs, and service expectations across the team.
Establish team routines and operating cadences that support visibility, accountability, collaboration, and timely delivery.
Manage team capacity, workload, work assignment, and prioritization to align resources with business needs.
Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development.
Learning Operations & Delivery
Provide oversight for day-to-day training management and administrative activities supporting Talent Management and Leadership Development programs.
Oversee training logistics, coordination, scheduling, materials, communications, and other activities required for successful program delivery.
Ensure work is completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established timelines and expectations.
Identify dependencies, delivery risks, and resource constraints and take action to resolve or escalate issues.
Provide hands-on support for learning operations, content, or logistics during peak periods, transitions, or other business needs.
Learning Content & Design
Provide oversight and direction for learning content design and development activities completed by the team.
Establish processes and quality expectations for the creation, review, maintenance, and delivery of learning materials.
Partner with U.S.-based stakeholders to clarify requirements, timelines, and desired outcomes for content-related requests.
Ensure learning materials and deliverables are completed consistently and meet stakeholder expectations.
Stakeholder Partnership
Serve as a primary India-based partner to Talent Management and Leadership Development stakeholders.
Build strong working relationships with U.S.-based partners and facilitate effective collaboration across locations and time zones.
Provide regular updates to the AVP of Talent Management regarding team capacity, priorities, performance, risks, and key deliverables.
Partner with the AVP of Leadership Development and other stakeholders as needed to coordinate work and resolve issues.
Translate stakeholder needs into clear priorities and actionable work for the team.
Process Improvement & Performance
Develop and maintain standardized processes, documentation, workflows, and operating procedures.
Establish appropriate service measures, delivery expectations, and performance indicators to monitor team effectiveness.
Use performance data, stakeholder feedback, and operational observations to identify opportunities for improvement.
Drive continuous improvement efforts that increase efficiency, quality, consistency, and scalability.
Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, or automate recurring work.
Support a culture of accountability, collaboration, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Typically 12+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, training operations, shared services, or a related function.
3+ years of people leadership experience, including responsibility for coaching, performance management, workload allocation, and team development.
Experience managing or supporting training operations, learning content development, and/or training logistics.
Demonstrated experience establishing or improving operational processes, workflows, service expectations, and team coordination.
Experience partnering with stakeholders across functions, geographies, and organizational levels.
Experience working with U.S.-based or global teams across time zones.
Experience in an India-based Global Capability Center, shared-services environment, or similar global operating model strongly preferred.

Ability to balance people leadership responsibilities with hands-on support when required.
Nice To Have Skills
Experience administering or working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Experience with instructional design, learning-content development, or content-authoring tools.
Experience using dashboards, reporting tools, or operational metrics to manage performance.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
Experience implementing automation or process-improvement solutions within learning operations.
Prior healthcare or other highly regulated industry experience.
Prior experience establishing or scaling a team within a Global Capability Center or shared-services environment.
