Organizational Overview
The role is part of Collections & Recovery Analytics and will be supporting Collections , Recovery and Servicing solutions . The team is focused on improving Collections, Recovery and Servicing Solutions performance, by building BI solutions to support Operations Leaders. This includes key performance indicators for cardholders and accounts, as well as metrics to support strategy development and execution.
Role Summary/Purpose
The role of the Sr Analyst Exception & Control Reporting is an addition to an exciting, fast-paced, constantly changing and challenging work environment, and will play an important role in supporting the Governance and Surveillance efforts across Synchrony Bank. It will support Synchrony Bank’s Exception and Control Reporting efforts by providing SAS/SQL programming, complicated data extraction to build new reports for multiple processes across Collections. The role will need to understand collections practices and policies and translate to multiple data sources and will also assist in audits pertaining to consumer and regulatory requests.
Key Responsibilities
Understanding the business requirements provided by EO Process Owners
Develop the reporting framework to solve for business requirement
Develop Python, SAS and/or SQL code, visual basic macros, business object or other query tools to build new exception and control reporting.
Build Tableau Dashboards to provide more business insights to the Process Owners and the Leadership team.
Data extraction, processing & mining based on various business rules and provided requirements.
Develop & present recommendations on analytical paths based on available data resources.
Generate Business Insights and deliver them within timely manner.
Document, update and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all Customer applications supported.
Work with IT and DW team to request data builds & support necessary analytics and reporting mechanisms.
Support audits via documentation of code and analytic outcomes and as extraction of data
Perform other duties and/or ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the financial services industry supporting an operations, customer service, and/or collections function.
Minimum 1 year of Reporting experience using SAS.
Coding experience with SAS, SQL, or Python.
Data analysis experience with large datasets and unstructured data sources
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering on demanding deadlines with minimal supervision
Demonstrated PC proficiency (Microsoft Suite, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Desired Skills/Knowledge
3+ Years of experience in financial institutions
Data Warehouse programming and/or analytics utilizing tools like Vision Plus, FDR, Rules, CHAID, or Model Builder
Exposure to regulatory requests and audits
Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and deliver creative results in a data environment
Ability to adapt to multiple tools for data extraction
Strong problem solving skills & attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, ability to clearly present analytical results and make recommendations based on findings and/or data limitations.
Experience in reporting data from the following data warehouses CDCI, MWC1, RDW, COLLP, DTS01 or CLBP2 is an added advantage
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the financial services industry supporting an operations, customer service, and/or collections function.
Minimum 1 year of Reporting experience using SAS.
Coding experience with SAS, SQL, or Python.
Work Timings
11:30 AM to 9:00PM IST
