Were looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to help us build new features for our customers, operate our service and improve our engineering process.

As a member of the OCI Platform Service team, you will work with our product team and other engineering teams to define new features for our customers. Youll design those features and then write code to build and operate them. You will help operate our service, troubleshoot problems and generally support our customers. Youll provide technical and project leadership to other software engineers on our team.

Youll bring 4+ years of software engineering or related experience. Youve built and operated cloud services. You have strong development experience with an Object Oriented Language. You demonstrate strong ownership, solid communication skills and a bias for action. Youre comfortable leading features and guiding other engineers.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Own and develop set of features available through the service.
• Guide junior software engineers in the team.
• Solve difficult problems in distributed systems, infrastructure, and highly available services.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Business Partners, and the Operations Engineering organization to deliver a highly available product to our customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment
• Proficient in Java and familiarity in at least one of the following languages: Python, C++, C# or Golang
• Experience developing service-oriented architectures and web services security solutions
• Experience building scalable, cloud native distributed systems.
• Experience working with other cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, search, store).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
• Comfortably in a collaborative, agile development environment.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, specifically within a cloud environment
• Familiarity and understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms.
• Understanding of cross-functional platform feature areas in cloud platforms.
