Job Position: Senior QA Engineer

Summary: SoftClouds is seeking a hands-on Senior QA Engineer with an automation-first mindset to join our dynamic QA team. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with development teams and managers across multiple teams, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment. They should be highly technical, detail-oriented, possess excellent problem-solving abilities, and communicate effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Hands-on experience with Karate API automation framework, GitHub, GitHub Action CI/CD, and AWS.
• Apply analytical thinking to research and resolve issues
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within teams.
• Define and execute exploratory tests, regression tests, and retests.
• Experience in both manual and automation testing.
• Manage end-to-end automation for both UI and API.
• Apply analytical thinking to derive meaningful tests from gathered hints and research.
• Identify common functionality and create reusable scripts.
• Oversee overall delivery of automation efforts.
• Prepare test strategy and test plans.
• Technical Skills: Karate API test automation framework, GitHub, GitHub Action CI/CD, and AWS. Rest Assured, SQL, DynamoDB
• Experience with XRay Test Management (plus).
• Proficiency in Postman and/or Bruno for API tests.
• Knowledge of JavaScript ES5 basics for Postman assertions
• Exposure to CRM and Cloud applications is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Agile Scrum principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Jira/Confluence tools for Scrum Testing.
• Collaborate with SoftClouds and customer teams to document business requirements.
• Ensure test automation adheres to best practices and current trends.
• Understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

• 8+ years of experience as a QA Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Karate API test automation framework, GitHub, GitHub Action CI/CD, and AWS.
• Excellent communication skills and effective stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in Web Automation using Selenium or other automation tools.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java/JavaScript.
• Experience in updating automation frameworks.
• Experience in API/Web-services Testing and Cloud application testing.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively under limited guidance.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools like Jira.
• Experience with application lifecycle management suites (Git/JIRA/TFS, etc.) for requirements, test cases, and defect tracking.
• Experience in Non-Functional Testing (Load Testing, Cross Browser Testing, API NFRs, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience in automating JavaScript-based applications is preferred.
• Ability to manage time effectively within short development cycles.
• Willingness to work extended hours or provide on-call support as needed.
• Passion for maintaining and enhancing software product quality.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
