Our team, a software house within Swiss Re, develops cloud-native (Azure-based) SaaS/PaaS solutions for external Life & Health insurance clients. Our portfolio includes established products like Magnum and those in growth or incubation stages, used globally. We utilize the latest technology and prioritize innovation to stay competitive.

Our technical team comprises over 150 professionals with multidisciplinary skills, located in various countries, delivering highly available, multi-regional solutions used worldwide.

About Role

As a Lead Quality Engineer specializing in automation, you will take ownership of the automation strategy within one of our product engineering team. You will lead the design, implementation, and evolution of advanced automated testing frameworks, driving continuous improvement in test quality and coverage. You’ll mentor and lead junior engineers, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and communicate testing outcomes to diverse stakeholders, setting the standard for quality and innovation across the organization.

Your Responsibilities Will Be

• Proactively lead and manage QA initiatives to ensure high-quality deliverables for our end-clients.
• Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of scalable test automation frameworks and suites across multiple product lines under L&H solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate test automation tools, including build verification systems, IDE plugins, and linting programs, to optimize testing efficiency and reliability.
• Write and enforce test automation scripts following defined internal coding standards to ensure consistency and maintainability.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure infrastructure reliability.

If you possess traits and experience that match most of the below, we’d love to hear from you:

• 10-14 years of experience in Software Development, Testing Automation and DevOps.
• Hands-on experience in test automation, with strong familiarity in CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient test automation and continuous integration.
• Proven record of executing QA strategies and unification of QA processes.
• Experience designing automation solutions for complex architectures covering UI, services, files, and databases.
• Able to perform QA testing across both front-end (user interface) and back-end (server, APIs, databases) components of applications.
• Strong QA experience with a solid background in Enterprise Java technologies.
• Proficient in Java/J2EE, REST, JUnit/TestNG, and various test automation frameworks.
• Experience with front-end web application test automation tools including Selenium, WebDriver, Grid, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, JMeter, BlazeMeter.
• Experience REST API testing, data validation testing, and integration testing.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks like WDIO, Coded UI, SoapUI, Postman, Protractor, Rest Assured, TestComplete, and PyTest.
• Strong experience in compatibility testing and regression testing.
• Preferrable experience in leading and managing automation teams, while providing technical guidance and solutions to support successful delivery.
• Provide technical leadership to develop QA automation, Agile Implementation Strategy for Magnum quality.
• Evaluate test tools for automation including build verification and IDE plugins and lint programs.
• Hands-on with products across the product portfolio, ability to participate in customer-facing activities like demos, feedback meetings etc.
• Write test automation scripts following the defined internal standards.
• Understand the current QA strategy, test plan, tools and technologies for existing Magnum products.
• Manage and groom teams for a high-performance culture and be a champion of Swiss Res core values.
• Provide early visibility and mitigation to technical challenges through the journey.
• Confidently represents product and portfolio, including vision and functional and quality roadmaps, within the company and, when necessary, to strategic.
• Code reviews to make sure quality code is delivered.
• R&D /POCs of new age requirements.
